Food

I've been reading so many books and watching so many documentaries lately. I'm in information overload right now, so I decided to break it down and organize the information for myself and you. My favorite book right now is "Master Your Metabolism" by Jillian Michaels. I highly recommend reading it, if you aren't a reader, don't worry, I'll probably end up quoting the entire book! Another book that I'm currently referencing is "The Maker's Diet" by Jordan Rubin. It's about getting back down to the basics and eating more like they did in biblical times. Great info! The third book is "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Plant-Based Nutrition" by Julieanna Hever.  And finally, "Healthy Food for Young Children" by Henny Fordham. Some great documentaries to watch if you are really wanting to know more about your food (which I personally think everyone should know about their food since it is such a big part of our lives) are "Food, Inc." and "Forks over Knives". http://www.forksoverknives.com/  I hope this information helps you feel less overwhelmed at the grocery store and when it comes to meal time. That's my goal, to make it simple!

  1. Hey Kim, another documentary you might find interesting is "Farmageddon," it's basically about having choices about where you get your food -- personal liberties, etc.
Also, I've mentioned before "Nourishing Traditions," I believe it'd pair really nicely with "The Maker's Diet!" Happy overloading! ;)
